About us AFRIVAXn

Brief overview of AFRIVAXn and its purpose

Formed in 2023, AFRIVAXn was formed to lead research on the safety and immune landscape of vaccines in the African population. This was informed by limited inclusion of African people in most clinical trials behind therapeutics and vaccines in use globally. The AFRIVAC initiative emerged from the Low- and Middle- Income (LMIC) research building advocacy led by Coalition for Equitable Research in Low-Resource Settings – CERCLE (https://cerclecoalition.org ) Immunology and Diagnostics Expert Working Group and Technical leadership from Makerere University Lung Institute (https://mli.mak.ac.ug/).
